Kennedy Valve began operations in 1877 in Lower Manhattan, N.Y. In 1890, the operation was moved to Coxsackie, and then in 1907, Kennedy Valve moved to Elmira, N.Y., where it remains a cornerstone of the community.

In the 135 plus years since its founding, Kennedy Valve has expanded to be a full-line waterworks valve and hydrant manufacturer, supplying resilient seated gate valves, fire hydrants, check valves, butterfly valves, indicator posts, grooved butterfly valves and an assortment of related products and appurtenances.

Butterfly Valves

The Kennedy Valve Butterfly Valves’ robust and rugged design can be relied upon for years of trouble free service. Kennedy Valves’ Butterfly Valves have a 100% bubble tight seal via a 304 stainless steel ring located in the body and the rubber seat located on the vane. This superior design provides ease of adjustment along with ensured dependability expected in any distribution system or plant installation.

  • Available in class 150 and 250
  • MJ x MJ, MJ x Flange, and Wafer end connections
  • Hand Levers available on 4’ thru 8”
  • 304 Stainless Steel ring in the body

    The Double Disc Gate Valve furnished by Kennedy Valve Company offers rugged construction, easy operation, long service life and economical maintenance. They are parallel seat valves meeting or exceeding all requirements AWWA Specifications C500 and conform to Federal Specifications WW-V-58b, Type II, Class I.

Check Valves

AWWA C508 was developed in 1976 to set a standard for the manufacture, testing and application of the Iron Body Bronze Mounted Check Valves. The valves are designed with an iron body and include either metal to metal or composition to metal seating.

    Kennedy Swing Check Valves are designed and manufactured in conformance with A.W.W.A. C508 and are for use on water, oil and gas lines. Under certain circumstances where it is desirable to have more positive control of the closing of the disc, the valves can be supplied with either lever-and-spring or lever-and-weight.
